Originally a threshing barn with Tudor origins, the Barn provides a spectacular double height space with surrounding grounds and gardens perfect for a variety of events, gatherings and meetings.
For art events, workshops and exhibitions: the light-filled principal space is ideal for art shows and exhibitions, enabling artists to showcase their work at its best, and viewers to have the time and space to absorb, enjoy and appreciate. A highlight of the 2025 programme is the career retrospective in June for the work of internationally renowned photographer Amedeo Castellani, with his portfolio starting at the heart of Cinecittà, the Italian film studios famous for producing Ben Hur and Cleopatra in the 1950s and ‘60s, and moving through London and Paris to his most recent collection of Suffolk based artists and artisans.
For weddings and celebrations: the space is yours to create your own personal style and atmosphere. From bespoke and unique weddings tailored for you, to private family gatherings bringing everyone together, you'll find a space perfect for entertaining and celebrating. We work with you and your chosen suppliers to ensure your event is exactly what you want.
For business and corporates: the Event Space lends itself to a broad spectrum of courses and workshops, meetings and awaydays. The format is flexible, and seating can be arranged to suit your requirements whether lecture or theatre style, or for roundtable discussions.
For theatre and screen: it provides performance, rehearsal and practice space for theatre and musical groups and has superb acoustics.
For film and TV location work: we are registered with location agency Screen Suffolk, the official film office for Suffolk, offering a ‘one-stop’ film service, from initial enquiry through to crew sourcing and permitting. The Barn Space listing can be found here, and the Barn, annexes and loft style apartment set around the atmospheric courtyard in conjunction with the Tudor farmhouse in 10 acres of private gardens and grounds delivers a beautiful and versatile setting.
